Japanese artist **Tetsuya Umeda** creates dynamic and uncanny environments through the playful manipulation of architecture, objects, sound and light. His works are site-responsive and ephemeral, utilising materials scavenged and found, which are transformed into transcendent spectacles of the unexpected. Umeda’s performances and installations reward an open and experimental viewer and listener; spectators encounter the works both as whole, governed by a coherent logic, but also as constructed and constituent parts, each moving in relation to the other. This multi-dimensionality is a platform upon with incredible perceptions are revealed. Presented by The SUBSTATION and LIQUID ARCHITECTURE in association with PERFORMANCE SPACE and ROOM40.
