Liquid Architecture partners with Regional Arts Victoria Fellow Thembi Soddell: investigating the sustainability of experimental practice in regional areas, with a focus on overcoming barriers to access for artists and audiences.
Soddell is a sound artist, composer, practice-based researcher, and long-time associate of Liquid Architecture, based in Clunes, Victoria, Dja Dja Wurrung Country. Their research develops novel approaches to representing and understanding so-called mental illness and trauma through sound-based artworks, including powerful acousmatic performances and installations in darkness.
The fellowship culminates in a weekend-long festival of darkness, titled A Dense Mass. With the support of Clunes Neighbourhood House and Clunes Free Library, Liquid Architecture presents a solo exhibition of Soddell’s works throughout and surrounding Clunes.
Full program forthcoming. Follow the progress of the project at: http://adensemass.thembisoddell.com/
****This program was never realised as a project that developed and then was deferred because of COVID.
