EMMA LASHMAR (WA)

Emma Lashmar recently graduated from a BFA Honours year at Monash University. Originally from Western Australia, Emma moved to Melbourne in 2004 to pursue the study of hot glass and its potential as a visual arts medium.

Emma Lashmar is part of the Sound Playground in Melbourne.

Since completing her studies, Emma has begun to explore the integration of sound and mechanical elements into her sculptural installation-based practice, holding her first solo exhibition at [MARS] Gallery, Port Melbourne in May 2010. The Sound Playground project will be her first foray into both instrumental sculpture and collaborative performance, and she is excited to be discovering sound as a fresh direction of inquiry within her practice.
